Planning around your ride

Simple things that make the day easier.

Choose by age

Children aged 8 to 10 can only join the one-hour ride. From age 11 you can choose either ride, if the rider also meets the minimum height of 4 feet (1.22 m).

Count the whole slot

With the 30-minute early arrival, a one-hour ride takes about an hour and a half of your day. A two-hour ride takes about two and a half. The last start in both seasons is a one-hour ride at 3 p.m.

Book the group together

Minors ride with an adult they know, and every rider needs their own horse. Reserve all riders in one booking and sign the waiver for each of them.

Add a stop at the visitor center

The visitor center is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in winter, a shorter day than the park itself. It has exhibits and a film.

Plan the rest of your day

Where a ride fits into a visit.

Summer afternoons bring thunderstorms. When you hear thunder, go into a solid building or a fully closed vehicle. The park sits at about 6,400 feet (1,951 m), so bring water and sun protection.
